Description
The White Tower (Maltese: Torri l-Abjad), is a small watchtower overlooking Armier Bay in the limits of Mellieħa, Malta. The tower built by Grand Master De Redin consisted of two floors, the ground floor was used for storage of cannon balls and gunpowder while an upper floor was used as living quarters for the torriero or commander of the tower, three soldiers and a bombardier acting as reinforcement.
Over the last few years, Din l-Art Ħelwa has restored this watch tower and opened an interpretation center focusing on Marine preservation. We would like to further enhance the interpretation of this historic site by offering audio guides with information about the tower, the coastal defense system as well as the natural fauna found on the foreshore around the tower.
The multilingual audioguides will use a QR code system to allow visitors to use their own smart phones to access this information.
Target Value of this project: 4,000 Euro will cover research, script writing and production of the audio guides.
