About the project
The Guiding for All Fund is an initiative by the Malta Girl Guides aimed at ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to participate fully in the Guiding experience, regardless of her or her guardians’ financial circumstances.
The Malta Girl Guides provides a non-formal educational programme for girls and young women of all ages, offering a safe and supportive space where they can learn, grow, and discover their potential. Through a hands-on programme and a wide range of experiences, members are encouraged to develop confidence, leadership skills, independence, and a strong sense of community. Guiding empowers girls and young women to challenge themselves, build meaningful friendships, and grow into responsible and active members of society.
The association is entirely volunteer-led and works continuously to keep participation in Guiding as affordable and accessible as possible. However, there are still costs involved in delivering a quality programme and enabling members to take part in the full Guiding experience. For some girls, these costs can present a challenge and may limit their ability to participate fully.
In the past, the association managed a small Guiding for All fund, which provided financial support to members who required assistance. Through this initiative, volunteer leaders were able to request support for girls who needed help in order to continue participating in Guiding activities. This support helped ensure that girls could remain involved alongside their peers and fully benefit from the opportunities that Guiding provides.
Through this project, the Malta Girl Guides aims to re-establish and strengthen this support by inviting members of the public to contribute to the Guiding for All Fund.
Donations received through this initiative will help the association provide financial assistance to girls who may otherwise struggle to participate fully in the Guiding experience.
Requests for assistance will be submitted by volunteer leaders who work closely with the girls and their guardians. Each request will be reviewed through a transparent process by a small committee within the association to ensure that support is allocated fairly and responsibly. All cases will be handled with sensitivity and confidentiality, ensuring that the dignity and privacy of the girls and their guardians are always respected.
Through the Guiding for All Fund, even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference. A donation can help ensure that a girl continues to benefit from the friendships, experiences, learning opportunities, and sense of belonging that Guiding offers.
By supporting this initiative, donors will be helping to remove financial barriers and ensure that every girl has the chance to experience the growth, adventure, and opportunities that Guiding provides.
