About the project

The Malta Human Rights Education Centre aims to be a hub for the dissemination of knowledge on human rights principles and ideals in order to bring human rights closer to the very subjects they deal with. Its goals are to bring to light human rights concepts to the public and educate right-holders and duty-bearers, to foster an environment for open discussion whilst bringing in the expert and inspiring voices. The MHREC Youth Network forms part of the main organisation, giving youths aged between 16 and 30 the opportunity to learn, discuss and engage in activism in a safe and welcoming environment through non- formal learning activities.  Through the proposed Social Media Visibility Campaign, MHREC can increase its outreach through campaigns over various marketing channels to reach a wider community of youth in Malta and Gozo. With this, MHREC can ensure that the Youth Network provides a safe and welcoming environment to youth beyond its current reach. Together with your support, MHREC is looking to strengthen its youth network by providing more non- formal learning activities to youth with a focus on human rights education. Activities that are free, inclusive and accessible to all youths in Malta and Gozo. Activities will be carried out in collaboration with national and international organisations such as the well established Anne Frank House as well as learning through international tools. All activities carried out will contribute to a more inclusive society through non-traditional learning of societal issues and positive action. With the proposed increase in non-formal activities, MHREC Management Volunteer team must ensure that its’ youth volunteer team continue to be supported and mentored to provide their usual stellar professional service and therefore more Volunteer Trainings will be provided to maintain MHREC standard . €300 Social Media Visibility Campaign to increase MHREC outreach €500 Non-Formal Learning Activities for Youth Network (6 months) €500 Volunteer Trainings to strengthen their skill sets €200 Learning Resources to support non formal learning activities & volunteer trainings
