About the project

We are currently crowdfunding €1,000 to finance a promotional campaign geared towards endorsing our initiative. The primary aim of this campaign is to secure official recognition from the Environment and Resource Authority for the Maltese honey bee (Apis mellifera ruttneri) as the designated national insect of Malta. The Maltese honey bee, exclusive to the Maltese islands, holds substantial ecological and cultural significance. By establishing its position as the national insect, we aspire to increase awareness about its crucial role in our ecosystem and advocate for its conservation. The targeted €1,000 funds will be designated for the creation of compelling advertisements and marketing materials, effectively conveying the initiative's value to the public and decision-makers. We are confident that this campaign will generate the essential support and enthusiasm needed to attain official recognition for the Maltese honey bee. Foundation for the Conservation of the Maltese Honey Bee is duly registered with the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations (VO/2403).
